Dream 10 || Psycho Got A High Kick

Warnings: If you count violence against Noise a warning and Neku's potty mouth. Also, a lot of headcanon and the mun taking liberties on Shiki's fighting style, the Chain Battles themselves, and the Fusion Attacks (Level 1 for this girl is at the start of the second video posted bellow x:). Ah, and pardon the crappy crop of Shiki's "battle outfit". |D Because showcasing all 5 Noise Battles will make this dream tl;dr, the dream will feature snippets and pieces of Shiki's fights instead.

Effects: [Optional] Like you've had the work out of your life. The viewer will suddenly feel weak, their body sore and will feel like they're struggling to catch their breath.

Note: Sometimes, Shiki and Neku will talk telepathically so:

Neku & Shiki

Viewers will hear their thoughts~

By now, Shiki had learned that appearances can be deceiving. Besides being a living example of it, anyone who would be able to see her and Neku standing around at Molco at this moment wouldn't even think twice that they were doing something out of the ordinary. They were impeccably dressed, yes, but that doesn't mean they were about to do something that would usually garner attention.

Neku had a soft spot for the brand Jupiter of the Monkey, but Shiki insisted that he should try other brands. He only obliged after Shiki, well, nagged him until he said yes. Shiki herself was told by Neku to wear something that actually helped her moved in battle. The outfit that Eri designed was fashionable and hip, but it wasn’t exactly practical for Noise Battles. The girl had finally settled for a violet cropped top she had found at D+B and the sportiest pants and sneaks she could find was from Tigre Punks.

Shiki stretched her back leisurely and rolled her shoulders. For some reason, she was feeling pretty good about this mission to pass the wall: Engage in a Chain Battle in any area. It was pretty light considering the crap they usually do just for the sake to clear the entire week and then go on to defeat the Game Master.

Neku had both hands on his headphones; his brows were furrowed in deep concentration. It would look silly to the common observer but Shiki knew he was hard at work scanning for Noise they needed to battle with. She stood beside him, her one hand resting on her hip, idly chewing bubble gum in her mouth, her foot tapping impatiently on the pavement. Really, her partner chose a weird time to be picky about which Noise symbol they were going to take on for the week.

"Anything yet?" she asked, finally blowing a bubble, shoving the gum back into her mouth with her tongue when it popped.

"..." was all he said, apparently still busy scanning for Noise. Shiki had already walked away from Neku, used the gum wrapper in her pocket to throw away the gum in her mouth and Neku was still scanning.

Shiki was about to give her partner a piece of her mind when Neku's eyes suddenly shot open, his body posed for battle.

"Get ready."

"Right!"

Shiki stood beside him, readying Mr. Mew and her pin before a red light engulfed her whole body and then she was gone from his side.

BATTLE ONE

After a while, the light had faded and Shiki could be seen again. She activated the Groove Pawn and Mr. Mew sprung into life, jumping down to the ground ready to fight. It takes a while for Noise to show up so Shiki had time to brace herself. The plushie was shifting his weight from one foot to another while Shiki was idly tinkering with her phone; as if this would make the forming of Noise go faster.

Movement was detected later at the corner of her eye. One by one, Noise started to appear. They ranged in different shapes and sizes, but they all still had the ability to erase Players. Shiki's posture tensed, shifting her body sideways so that her left leg stood in front of her right. With a flick of her wrist, Mr. Mew also readied himself for the upcoming fight. One might noticed that the little stuffed toy now sported claws.

"Watch yourself."

She nodded, a smirk suddenly forming on her lips. She was ready to bring down the Noise.

"GO!!"

Shiki stood in one spot while the plush cat was the one who charged toward the enemy and served as the thing that defended Shiki from Noise who attacked her from behind. She would duck, and Mr. Mew would fly in the opposite direction, successfully erasing the enemy. But as time went on, Shiki could hear very faint music coming from somewhere. It grew louder as the fight continued. It wasn't exactly distracting, per say. In fact, the rhythm and the beat of the song was helping her move better. She then realized it was Neku. She was hearing Neku's music right at this moment.

It was a bad move on her part, suddenly stopping in the middle of her fight in order to hear the song better. A Noise shaped like a wolf noticed an opening and took full advantage of it. It charged towards her at full speed, successfully bringing her down to the ground.

"UGH!!"

"Be careful!"

"Nngh, I'm fine!!"

Shiki got up quickly, her anger from being taken down so quickly fueled her determination to fight more. She summoned Mr. Mew and with a flick of her arm, the plush cat soared, taking down the wolf Noise in a few hits.

"Why don't you back off?!" she grunted, huffing after that particular Noise was erased.

The dream then shifted to a later point of this Noise Battle. With Mr. Mew riding on her shoulder, Shiki was running away from a Noise bigger than the ones that were shaped like frogs and tadpoles combined. It kept swiping at her with its massive claws. It also liked throwing things at her and it kept getting heavier each single time. The last thing that the Noise threw was a massive station wagon. You couldn't blame Shiki for being cautious.

She made a beeline to another side of the street, jumping on a row of benches that lined up Molco's shops. The only advantage she had over this beast was speed. Sure, it could easily pick her and tossed her away like yesterday's garbage but it took a while for it to reached end of the row like Shiki did, wrecking the benches in the process.

A loud roar made her turn around and she was mere inches from the creature's face. She had think of a way to evade it. Fast. Thinking quickly, Shiki raised her arms, bended her knees and did a backflip off seat, successfully dodging the Noise's attack. She wasted no time having Mr. Mew attack it once she landed on her feet.

And with that, the Noise was silenced for good.

BATTLE THREE

Mr. Hanekoma had told the pair that Chain Battles get tougher with each passing round. He wasn't kidding. Shiki was already feeling the strain of this chain battle on her body but she wasn't going to give up yet. After she got healed after Neku had used the Cure Drink pin, she noticed that her hands started to glow and it only grew brighter with each successful erase of Noise. Mr. Mew's swipes started to grow more powerful too And then, she smirked, remembering that special pin the older man gave Neku. The barista's explanation on how "Fusion Attacks" worked wasn't exactly clear. All Shiki knew was she and her partner needed to have "certain groove" going. Was this it? It has to be!

"Neku, the pin!" Going on her gut instinct, Shiki ran to the middle of the street, Mr. Mew in tow. The glow on her hands were brighter than she had ever seen them. "NOW!!"

She balled her fingers into a fists, ready to unleash what Mr. H had created for them

"Ready to die?"

"Then DIE!"

If Mr. Mew was already quick on his feet, this Fusion made his attack faster and done with more accuracy. With Neku joining in, they finished this battle in a satisfying note.

BATTLE FIVE

Shiki wasn't pleased at how this battle started. One of the Noise decided to make the battle more difficult by wrecking one of the nearby fire hydrants, making the road too slippery to fight on. Not to mention, the shower of water basically ruined Shiki's new outfit in her eyes. She was soaked to the bone, her clothes already clinging to her body, Mr. Mew was getting heavier due to the water weight while her hair and bangs was already sticking on her forehead and neck.

She grumbled under her breath, kicking the puddle that forming at her feet. The splash seemed to distracted the Noise a bit, making it block the water from its face; it gave Shiki an idea. Using Neku's music to her advantage, she began to move in time with it, making sure her pseudo dance routine included different ways of her stumping on the puddle while Mr. Mew erases all the Noise that crossed his path.

But it looked like Shiki missed one. Noise had many characteristics. One of them is stealing pins from Players and it would seem Neku was another unlucky victim.

"Nyagh. Bastard took my pin!"

Shiki said nothing to that, not aloud nor even telepathically. After wringing the water from her hair, she looked up, searching for the Noise that looked like a vulture. The girl moved away from the fire hydrant seen only to find the Noise flying over a patch of the street that wasn't soaked yet. A smirked formed on her lips at the sight. Shiki could be now seen backing up a few feet before breaking into a run, prompting Neku to scream in her mind:

"Hey--Stop!! What the hell are you doing?!"

"What does it look like I'm doing??" She said, picking up her speed. "I'm getting your pin back!"

Once she had enough momentum, Shiki jumped up, and flung both of her arms in front of her. Mr. Mew soared, slicing through the beast. Shiki couldn't help but pump her fist in the air and say after recovering him on the ground:

"Weeeee did iiiit~! Was that close or what?"

The dream ended with the same light that brought Shiki to the other plane engulfed her whole body again. In an blink of an eye, she was gone.

*ACHOO!*

[Shiki wakes up sneezing, wrapping her arms around herself in attempt to keep herself warm. She searches for a tissue in her pocket, blowing her nose into one once she found it. After disposing of the tissue, she rubbed her eyes; trying to remember where the heck was she. It wasn't the apartment.

AHHHHHHHHHH!

Why am I--No no no no!

[She had apparently fell asleep in the workshop of Altered to Fit. She had told her workers to go ahead and that she would be the one to close shop that day. Quickly grabbing the Dreamberry, her coat, and her keys, Shiki frantically makes her way to the door (and there goes another sneeze). Unfortunately, Murphy's Law was rather fond of Shiki Misaki. Her foot slipped on the carpet near the door, tripping the poor thing. She would have gone through the door if it wasn't made sturdy by one New York warlock.

Instead, Shiki hit her head really hard on the wooden door. Enough for her knees to buckle and for her to slump on the ground, clutching her head in pain. The 'berry falls to the ground, the camera tilted at a weird angle. Shiki could still be seen though on the screen, groaning.]

OOOOOOWWWWW!

[Whatta night. And then *ZSST* The feed finally shuts off on its own.]
